How does volumetric concrete mixing work?
Unlike traditional drum mixers carrying pre-mixed concrete from a batching depot, our volumetric trucks carry raw cement, aggregates, sand, and water in separate compartments. On arrival at your site in Barnet, ingredients are mixed in a continuous on-board auger. You get 100% fresh concrete and only pay for what is laid.
What is your minimum delivery volume?
Our minimum order is just 1.0 cubic metre (1m³). Because we batch live on site, you never have to worry about ordering excess concrete buffer; digital metering stops the moment your forms or trenches are filled.
How much advance notice is needed for booking?
We recommend giving 24 to 48 hours notice for guaranteed 2-hour morning or afternoon delivery slots. We also offer same-day emergency concrete dispatch across Barnet (EN5, EN4, N20) subject to schedule availability.
How much free offloading time do I get?
We provide 10 minutes of free offload time per cubic metre ordered. If offloading takes longer than this allocated slot, an affordable demurrage charge of £2.00 per minute applies.
Can concrete be poured during wet weather?
Light drizzle is generally harmless. In heavier rain, cover the freshly finished slab with polythene sheeting to prevent surface paste dilution and ensure full compressive strength.
When should I hire a concrete pump?
If your pour location is more than 5 metres from where the truck can park, or access involves narrow side passages, steps, interior hallways, or obstacles, our ground line pumps (150m+ reach) or boom pumps save hours of labor and prevent property damage.
How long does concrete take to cure?
Initial setting begins within 1 to 2 hours. The slab can be walked on carefully after 24 to 48 hours. Light vehicle traffic is permissible after 7 days, and full structural design compressive strength is achieved at 28 days.
Can you supply multiple concrete grades on one delivery?
Yes! Because dry materials are blended on demand, we can pour a C20 foundation footing and immediately adjust the mix to a C35 external driveway slab on the very same delivery visit.
